The Haunted Eyeball has been evolving successfully since it relaunched in December 2011. It’s a sister site to joannakneilson, which is all about writing and author ambitions.
The Haunted Eyeball reviews all sorts of horror, science fiction and fantasy. If it’s got Lovecraft or Cthulhu mentioned in there, it’ll get a look. The emphasis here will be on independent genre books, comics, games and short films, but that won’t stop some more random thoughts on the endless daily collisions with pop culture and the outside world from creeping in.
Publishing Schedule as follows:
Monday – Monster Mondays
The Eyeball takes a look at a monster and lists why it’s worth a look. We’re not snobbish, and a monster from a kid’s film is as valid as Freddy Krueger!
Wednesday and Thursday – Book reviews and Author Interviews
We try to link our Wednesday reviews of horror, sci fi and New Weird books to an interview with the Author on either Thursday or Friday. Some books that interest us may also be reviewed without an author interview, but for midweek we aim to link them and if later books by an interviewee are reviewed the interview will be linked or even refreshed!
We have recently been interviewing some brilliant horror authors, so please do click on the Author Interview tag to check them out. Click on this link to apply if you have a book you think we’d be interested in. Please bear in mind this is a horror blog first and foremost, so your work must have something freaky enough about it to warrant a review here. However, we’re also very open minded, so give us a try if you’re sure we’ll like it. A review may still go up on a sister site.
Kickstarter Sundays
We like to support horror work that we come across online and Kickstarter is chock full of worthy projects needing a hand up. The Eyeball adopts one project a week and pushes their campaign forward in every online way it can. We will not ditch you and will continue to try and promote to the bitter end!
These projects can range from films, comics, books and performances, and art, so we’re hoping to showcase a range of wonderful projects that need a little love and a bit more moolah in order to come to life.
Thanks for visiting. and come back soon or subscribe (yay!) to get regular updates.

Hi Joanna,
I am an author and indie Thriller/Horror filmmaker in the States. I am currently running a Kickstarter campaign to get my Western/Thriller, THE FARMER, off and running to film this summer. Can you or your writers help this project out with a shout out? I would love to answer any of your questions about this movie or my recently released Suspense/Thriller book, THE WHALER FORTUNE, on Amazon.
